Mi Lugar Favorito

Ian and I went on a date to Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens— it’s one of my favorite places in the world. I’ve been visiting since I was a young child, drawing the flowers and exploring with my family. The beauty is astounding. It’s a wonderful place to spend some time with loved ones and get a good walk in!

I love going to high tea at the Rose Garden Tea Room, which has recently been renovated. It’s one of the only traditions I’ve grown up with. We celebrate there for any occasion, some holidays we created on our own. My favorite is Daughter’s Day, since every other family member gets a holiday of their own. (We have a dedicated Tia’s Day too!)

Family traditions never meant much to me, seeing as I grew up with just my mum and aunt. I’ve come to a realization that I can create my own, and I can create my own family too. This doesn’t mean that I don’t at times long for a big family with lots of cultural traditions. I definitely do, but I like living life according to me anyway.
